Mother of six week old baby
Nicole helped some friends of ours with their young son a few years ago, so when our baby boy Silas was six week’s old and only sleeping in our arms both day and night, we sought her help. Nicole came to our house and spent the afternoon and evening with us and our little one – guiding us through slowing down our parenting, taking cues from our baby, removing the many things that were overstimulating him and allowing him the space to learn to settle himself to sleep.
Prior to seeking Nicole’s help, we were spending hours rocking Silas and then holding him as he slept as he would wake everytime we put him down, which meant very little sleep for us. After spending an afternoon with Nicole, for the first time our son slept in his bassinet in his own room for five hour blocks during the night. He is now three months old and goes down for the night around 6pm, usually only waking for one feed. We use the support techniques Nicole taught us on a daily basis and are much more in tune to reading whether Silas needs to sleep or simply have some quiet time without stimulation. We are both now enjoying being first time parents (and getting more sleep!) and relishing watching our son smile and learn about the world.
